Hello everyone.
My name is Maria.
Sometimes leaving means saving yourself and your child.
After many years of abusive and destructive relationships, I finally managed to leave my husband. This decision was very difficult for me. At one point, our departure practically turned into a escape.
Now my 14-year-old son and I are temporarily living in a hotel. We have no stable housing, familiar routine, or the feeling that tomorrow everything will be calm.
I am trying my best. I work 10-12 hours a day at DoorDash to pay for the hotel, food, and the most essential expenses. I am not afraid to work and am ready to do everything possible to get our lives back on track. But right now, it is very hard for me to handle everything alone.
There are still many difficult questions ahead: legal processes, immigration issues, finding permanent housing, groceries, and regular daily expenses.
We especially need help with temporary safe housing, food, legal support, and immigration matters. If anyone can help financially, with food, housing, advice, or contacts of verified organizations — it would be a huge support for us.
I am not asking someone to solve my life for me. I am asking for a little help to get through this difficult stretch of the journey until I can fully provide stability for my son again.
More than anything, I want one thing — for my child to feel safe again and to know that we have a home, peace, and a future.
Thank you to everyone who does not walk by. For help, for reposts, for contacts of the right person, and even just for kind words.
Any support is important to us right now.
