With his mother Svetlana, he risked everything to save Ukrainian families trapped in occupied territories, smuggling them to safety in Europe. After fleeing Russia due to persecution, Zakhar faced immense challenges in the US - battling cancer, living in his car, and working tirelessly to reunite with his mother. They finally embraced just a month ago... Tragically, Zakhar's heart couldn't take the strain. He was found deceased yesterday, leaving Svetlana alone in immense grief.
