Sponsor guide

How a local business becomes a FundlyHub sponsor, thanks people who hold FundlyHub achievements with perks, and checks those perks at the counter.

What a sponsor is

Sponsors are local businesses that give perks to FundlyHub achievement holders. They don't receive donations, and they don't donate unless their page says so.

Being a sponsor is free. Your business pays for its own perks.

Sponsors are businesses in the United States for now.

Becoming a sponsor

Five steps, saved as you go.

  1. 01

    Find your business

Search by name or address. If your business is already a sponsor, ask to join its team instead.

  2. 02

    Show you run it

A 6-digit code sent to a work email at your website's domain, or a document naming you that a person at FundlyHub reviews: a business license, a state filing that lists you as owner, manager or officer, or the IRS letter with your EIN.

  3. 03

    Your page

Your logo, name, category, a few words about you, links and your locations with their hours.

  4. 04

    Your first perk

What it is, who it's for, where and how often it can be used. You see it the way givers and the counter will.

  5. 05

    Review

Accept the Sponsor Terms and submit. A FundlyHub reviewer usually looks your page over within 1 business day.

Once you're live, your perks start and a free sticker kit is mailed to each location.

Perks

A thank-you for an achievement, never for a gift.

A perk is for people who hold a FundlyHub achievement at a tier or higher, such as Bronze and up. It unlocks 7 days after they reach that tier.

You choose the value, where it works (in store, online or both), how often each person can use it, and if you like, days, hours or a monthly cap. Up to 10 live perks.

A perk can't:

  • depend on a donation, its amount or a cause
  • be alcohol, tobacco or vaping products, or cannabis
  • be a raffle or a sweepstakes
  • ask for personal information, like joining a mailing list

A better perk starts right away. A smaller one, or the end of a perk, starts 14 days later, and the people who follow you or used it are told. A pause works right away and ends within 14 days.

How to check a perk

The one-minute guide for everyone at the register.

  1. The giver taps Use perk and shows a live code with their name and photo.
  2. Open fundlyhub.org/counter. Scan the QR, or type the 6 digits.
  3. Green: tap Give the perk and take the discount in your register.
  4. Amber or red: read the message out - it says why and what to do.

Codes change every 30 seconds. A screenshot, an achievement card's QR or a sticker's QR won't work. Tapped by mistake? Undo within 15 minutes.

Good to know

  • A code works once, for 2 minutes after it shows.
  • If FundlyHub can't be reached, perks can't be given until it's back. Nothing is lost.
  • Each code is one perk. Whether perks combine is up to your fine print.
  • After 5 wrong codes in a row, the counter waits a minute.

Stickers and the web badge

Each location gets a free kit: a door sticker, a round window sticker and a counter sticker, each with its own code, and this guide for your staff.

Confirm each address: someone on your team signs in, scans one of its stickers and taps Confirm this address.

A sticker lost or damaged? Order that one again for free. Its old code stops working.

The web badge shows Proud Sponsor of FundlyHub on your website while you're a sponsor, and turns into a plain FundlyHub link if that ends.

Three sizes: 200 × 48, 160 × 38, and 48 × 48 for tight spots, like the round sticker. Copy its code from your workspace, under Stickers and badge.

The image comes from FundlyHub, so it always shows your live status. If the business leaves FundlyHub, is suspended, or the image is copied onto a site that isn't a sponsor, the same spot shows a plain FundlyHub link. Nobody has to remember to take it down.

Do and don't

  • Use it as provided, linked to your FundlyHub page.
  • Put it near your perks, your hours or your footer.
  • Don't redraw, recolor or stretch it.
  • Don't add words like "verified" or "certified by FundlyHub".
  • Not a sponsor? It won't show - and copies can be reported.

The stickers and the badge say you're a proud sponsor. They never say verified or certified.

Your team

Invite people by email. They accept with their own FundlyHub account.

  • Owner

Everything, including handing over ownership and leaving FundlyHub. One per sponsor.

  • Admin

Everything except handing over ownership and leaving.

  • Manager

Hours, closures, cashiers and counter devices at their locations.

  • Cashier

    The counter, at their locations.

People on your team can't use your own perks. Other sponsors' perks work as usual.

When a perk wasn't honored

A customer can report a perk that wasn't honored. You're told and have 3 days to answer. If you confirm it or don't answer, the use is voided and the customer gets it back. If you dispute it, FundlyHub decides.

You see the time, the place and the perk, never who reported it.

Leaving FundlyHub

The owner can leave at any time. Your page and perks stay up for 14 days, then your page becomes a record that you were a sponsor. Take the stickers down within those 14 days.

A business that left can come back within 12 months, with a new review.
